Red Squirrel Campsite C&CC 5cs

Esta fue la primera parada de nuestro viaje por Gran Bretaña y fue simplemente perfecto… los dueños son súper amables, el camping y el entorno es de cuento y genial para descansar y súper dog friendly. Volveremos!

We had a very friendly welcome from Jo, the warden. The site is very well kept, spotlessly clean shower and toilet. The owner Hamish is also very welcoming, he loves to chat with his guests. It’s an absolute gem of a site, saw lots of wildlife and dog friendly!

Very peaceful and friendly camp site. A small site, about 15 pitches for tents and camper vans. Electric hookup available, adults only. Dogs welcome. The owners and wardens are very friendly and welcoming, be sure to buy some of Hamish's honey. The site is set in a very rural location, popular with walkers, cyclists and climbers. Fishing and golf courses near by if that's your bag. The only hostelry close by is the Auldgirth Inn, a 40 minute walk to a good, if pricey, restaurant. Dumfries is a 20 minute drive. The much nicer Wigtown just over an hour away. Only one toilet and one shower, but even when busy this wasn't a problem. The facilities are always perfectly clean. There is also a lounge area with pot washing, two electric rings, kettle, toaster, microwave, washing machine (£2), fridge and freezer. This also provides somewhere to shelter if it's wet, with table & chairs and a sofa, though we enjoyed warmth and sun! Lovely experience, to be repeated I'm sure.

Absolutely idyllic! Facilities were perfect and it was lovely and quiet! I bought some honey from Hamish ( the owner) who keeps his own bees..We will certainly be back!

A wonderfully secluded site surrounded by hills. Remember your might midge spray though. Great walks near by. Hosts friendly. Perfect for getting away from it all.

Lovely little site, quiet location with adequate facilities if you wanted them, Margaret and Hamish very friendly hosts, plenty of walks and lovely scenery about, a great chill out site, but need transport if you want to explore the area. I would be happy to return again.

Hosts make you feel right at home, it’s dog friendly and simply lovely atmosphere. You can buy homemade honey there as well.
