When we realized this was in a gas station we almost didn’t go in, but glad I trusted the reviews. Very clean. Good simple home cooking. Huge chicken fry’s and yummy looking omelets. I had the crispy chicken sandwich on the jalapeño roll, so good! Chicken was seasoned and breaded to perfection and SO juicy! Definite hidden gem. All their cakes looked scrumptious too. Waitress was Sarah and she was great. They were very busy for a late lunch crowd but they kept everyone satisfied!

The chicken fried steak was superb! I don't usually like cream gravy but it was delicious and paired perfectly with the steak. Fried okra was done just right, no grease at all. Mashed potatoes were, as the kids say, chef's kiss. Next time I am in the area I will be eating here.

We had breakfast here last Sunday and everything was good so we decided to come back today. Our waitress Sara was great. Everything else was a total failure. Waited 20-30 minutes, food was cold, eggs were over cooked, sausage & biscuits were not fresh. My wife's order was similar to mine and had the same results. There was a placard on the table with a QR code asking for a review. While I was writing this review, Sara came to get our plates and asked about our meal. I told her the same thing I wrote here. She apologized repeatedly and I assured her she was great and had no control over what happens in the kitchen. She returned shortly and told us the kitchen manager sends their apologies and our entire meal was comped. She also stated that the cook was new and for us to please come back and give them another chance which we plan to do. Even though our waitress Sara was 5 stars I gave an overall 3 stars because I was here for the food.

How do I leave 6 stars?! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Red Star café is amazing! Delicious food, amazing staff and very clean! The place was packed for lunch on a Friday. The owners must be very proud!

Was told about this place by a co-worker! I’ve been in the area for about 2 years! I cannot believe i’m just now finding out about this place! It was soooo good. My waitress was nice! I also got a piece of that cake to-go!

Service was great, but food was just okay.

Got a cheeseburger, and it was dry, and the fries that came with it were bland. If you want a decent burger I'd say just goes across the hall to the burger king that's attached to the gas station.
